The Hartz Mountain Corporation Annual Holiday Drives
The annual holiday drives start right after the Labor Day weekend wherein the generous employees of The Hartz Mountain Corporation contribute and donate to various organizations.
In September, Hartz partners with The Blood Center of New Jersey in an effort to support those who are in need. It is estimated that 75% of the population will need blood at some point in their lifetime, yet less than 5% of the eligible population donates!
Following the blood drive in early November employees at several of our facilities conduct food drives. In 2011 Hartz Secaucus held its 10th annual food drive, Hartz J.C. also donated food and turkeys which were delivered to The Community Food Bank of New Jersey. Each year the Food Bank of New Jersey assists over 1500 partner agencies, distributing over 39 million pounds of food in 18 New Jersey counties, helping to feed 900,000 people. Pleasant Plain and Logansport collected and donated boxes and barrels for their local food banks. Hartz employees can make a difference in the lives of some of our neighbors by giving directly to a facility that provides food to those most in need of help by making a difference in the lives of some of our neighbors.
The December holiday season moves people to wonderful acts of charity. Hartz employees supports Eva’s Village, Paterson, N.J. providing unwrapped toys, gifts and wrapping supplies and delivering them to help fill Eva’s Holiday Shoppe to allow parents the opportunity to choose gifts for the children in Eva’s Village.
