Types of Dog Play: The Medium Player
Medium players love to get active! Trips to the park, a game of fetch, or an intense chew session can often burn off this type of player's energy.
After an hour or so of play they are usually wiped out and may possibly remain calm for the rest of the day. It is still important to give them their daily playtime to avoid anxious or bored behaviors.
So what types of toys are best for the medium player? We recommend trying out rope toys that encourage a variety of games. The Hartz® Tuff Stuff® Retriever™ can be thrown for a game of fetch, or used to play an invigorating game of tug. It allows the dog to choose what they want they want to play. And with its highly durable, twisted ropes it is sure to last a long time.
Balls can keep any dog interested in play, and the Hartz® Dura Play® Ball Large is a great option because it is made to last. The Dura Play® Ball is made with soft latex and guaranteed to last longer than a canister of tennis balls.
Lastly, nylon chewing toys and rawhides provide great stimulation for medium players. Make sure to pick out a chew that fits the size of your dog. You want to make sure it is not small enough that they can't finish it in one sitting, but big enough that it will last more than one day.
Medium players are great dogs to have around. They are playful and curious, and with the right amount of daily exercise their energy can be easily controlled.
